Your go to tips for healthier, stronger, naturally fuller lashes

If you are dreaming of naturally lovely lashes which look longer, fuller and healthier without relying on heavy mascara or lash extensions then you are in the right place! This guide is full of everyday lash care advice and clever little hacks to help you make the most of what you have got.

Daily Lash TLC:

1. Brush Your Lashes Daily

A quick gentle comb through each morning with a clean spoolie keeps lashes tidy, trains their direction and removes any sleep gunk or dust. It is a little thing that makes a big difference!

2. Clean Your Lash Line Regularly

Even if you don’t wear makeup, oils, dead skin cells and pollution can build up and clog the lash follicles. Clean your lash line 2 - 3 times a week using micellar water on a cotton bud or a lash safe cleanser.

3. Use a Lash Serum (Properly!)

Apply it right at the root of your lashes where the follicles are. This is where growth happens. Consistency is key, use it daily and give it at least 6 - 8 weeks to start seeing proper results.

4. Take a Break from Mascara Now and Then

Even the best mascaras can be drying over time. Give your lashes a break here and there to let them breathe and recover. This helps reduce brittleness and fall out.

Lash Hacks You Will Wish You Knew Sooner:

5. Switch to a Silk Pillowcase

Silk Pillowcases reduces friction while you sleep helping to prevent lash fall out. It is also great for your skin and hair!

6. Don’t Overdo Eye Creams

Eye creams that are too heavy or oily can creep into the lash line and interfere with follicle health. Apply lightly, keeping to the orbital bone area.

7. Avoid Rubbing Your Eyes

Hard to resist sometimes but rubbing pulls at lashes and can lead to premature shedding. If your eyes are itchy or dry, try cooling eye gels or eye drops instead.

8. Ditch Cotton Pads

Cotton pads can leave fibres behind and snag lashes. Try reusable microfibre pads for makeup removal. They are gentle, effective and better for the planet too!

9. Keep Lash Tools Clean

Any lash curlers, spoolies or brushes you use should be cleaned regularly. Dirty tools can transfer bacteria and oils that clog follicles and irritate the eyes.

10. Watch Out for Stress Twiddling

You would be surprised how many people unknowingly pull or twist their lashes when anxious or deep in thought. If you catch yourself doing it, try swapping the habit for something else like playing with a stress ball.

11. Sleep on Your Back (if you can!)

Sleeping face down or sideways with your face smushed into a pillow can cause lashes to bend, flatten or shed. Sleeping on your back (or at least using a silk pillowcase) is much gentler on your lashes.

12. SPF for the Eye Area

Lash hairs can be damaged by UV rays just like your scalp or hair. Using a gentle SPF around the eyes helps protect both the delicate skin and the lash roots from sun exposure.
