Why do I get white patches on my nails after removing polish?

The white patches that sometikes appear on your nails after you remove any polish or nail enhancements are called Keratin Granulation, but they are nothing to be worried about.

Keratin Granulations are dehydrated parts of the nail where layers of the nail has come away during the removal process caused by acetone. Acetone temporarily dehydrates the nail but dries up quickly allowing your nail to regain moisture.

To cure and recover your nails from Keratin Granulation use hydrating products like cuticle oil, moisturiser and hand cream to replenish the moisture balance of your nails.

Eventually as your nail grows the white patches will grow out and your nails will soon return to normal.
