Life, stress, sleepless nights, the weather and just existing can leave our skin (especially under our eyes) looking tired, puffy and dull. Don’t panic! I am here to share my easy, realistic tips to help you glow again, no 12 step routine or fancy potions needed, just simple tweaks that actually work.
Cleanse Smarter, Not Harder
First things first, cleansing is your foundation. If you are relying on a quick face wipe then chuck it in the bin immediately! A good cleanse morning and night keeps your skin fresh, helps products sink in properly and prevents dull build up.
My tip: If your skin feels tight or squeaky after washing, that is not ‘clean’, your skin bas been stripped. Look for a gentle cleanser that respects your skin’s pH. If you wear SPF or makeup, try double cleansing in the evening.
Bye Bye Tired Eyes: Tackle Dark Circles & Puffiness
Under eyes are often the first to show we are running on empty. Dark circles, bags and puffiness can be caused by dehydration, lack of sleep, stress or even salty snacks before bed.
Easy under eye rescue:
Keep hydrated
Sleep slightly elevated to reduce puffiness.
Use a cold spoon or gel eye mask in the morning.
Gently tap in your eye cream.
A good eye cream can help but lifestyle tweaks make all the difference too.
Master the Mini Facial Massage
A few minutes of massage works wonders for tired, puffy skin.
Facial massage boosts circulation and helps drain fluid which is perfect for under eye bags.
Try this: Use clean fingers, apply a tiny bit of oil or serum and use gentle tapping or light sweeping movements around your eyes and cheeks.
Create An Evening Routine You Will Stick To
No need for fancy 10 step routines, keep it simple and consistent.
Gentle cleanse to remove the day’s grime.
Hydrating serum if your skin needs it.
Dot on your eye cream but be gentle.
Finish with a nourishing night moisturiser.
Consistency is key here, your skin loves routine just as much as we do!
Eat & Drink Your Way To Glow
What is on your plate shows up on your face. Keep up your water intake, sip herbal teas and add in skin loving foods like cucumber, berries and green tea. Try cutting back on salty snacks late at night they can make under eye bags worse by the morning.
Treat Yourself To A Professional Facial
If you really want to hit the refresh button, nothing beats a professional facial. I have lost count of the times clients have said, “I look wide awake for the first time in ages!” after a treatment.
